This book had it all, a great story, intrigue, a touch of romance and a big surprise in the last few pages that will shock you and make you happy. What more could you ask from a book? It will also touch you regarding family dynamics and may cause you reach out to a family member who has been estranged. I cried at the end of it and I don't do that too often. I had not read this one from Baldacci and have been re-reading some of his other older books because I am current on all of my favorite authors. That man sure can write! I also love the fact that he is apolitical. He is able to write exceptional novels that involve the government without angering one-half of the population, like some authors are capable of and do.
